Magnolia Blossoms

Wearing: Thrifted Dress, Franco Sarto Boots, Sheer tights,  H &M Leather Jacket, Vintage Belt

Today was one of those days, where its not quite green enough to wear yellow and sandals, but still makes you feel like a pretty floral dress. I just got this dress at a thrift store for a dollar, and am so excited about the fit and the beautiful ruffle at the top. Sometimes it takes a pretty dress and blossoming trees to make Mondays tolerable.

Crystalized Claws

It is three days from April and it snowed. I hate to be such a brat about the weather, but really... Mother Nature, this is unfair. The trees however were stunning. Everything is coated in this intense white sparkle. Its a little like being in a winter fairy tale. However,  I couldn't bring myself to do an outfit post, I'm feeling slightly feverish and was more concerned with packing than getting dressed, but I did do some major crafting. Get ready for an intense post about it coming soon.
And my little dog is a Westie, named Flannigan. He has a super cute face, but he's afraid of the flash so he never looks right at the camera. I'll get his face up here next time I'm home for sure.
Maybe it will be Spring, next time.

Everything Is Bigger In Texas

They say everything is bigger in Texas, and for the most part I think that's pretty true. So, as a result, I felt it was only appropriate to follow up my trip to the Great Lone Star State with the biggest post yet.

Photobucket Wearing: Thrifted Boys Blazer, Urban Outfitters tank, thrifted cutoffs, vintage bag, michael kors sandals.

Wore this the first night to go see some shows at the end of  SXSW. We saw Explosions In The Sky and then went to a parking lot party and watched The Crystal Stilts, Waves, and NO AGE. It was such a cool laid back atmosphere for a music fest.

Photobucket This is a picture of the best sandwich I can remember. Those little cucumbers were fresh pickles! So Crisp!

PhotobucketPhotobucket Wearing: Splendid tee, thrifted shorts, vintage head scarf, keds, vintage bag, australia sweater.

Had a picnic on top of the Whole Foods and had such a great seafoam cupcake! Then we went to the capitol building and played around with the monumental sculpture. Texas sure has a lot of it.

PhotobucketWearing: Vintage White Blouse and necklace, thrifted little boys belt, gap shorts, Michael Kors sandals.

Kind of a goofy picture, but I really liked the outfit. Perfect for strolling about the city. Took these pictures under the giant star in front of the Texas State History Museum then we went to Whole Foods again and got olives and bread for a picnic at Barton Springs. The perfect Austin day!

Wearing : Australia Sweater, Vintage Bag, Anthropologie Shirt, Gap Shorts.

Wore this on the last day for a jaunt to a used book store and the Buffalo Exchange. I wanted to stop at Polka Dots for a cupcake, but we ran out of time.

I have to admit, I was excited, but skeptical to travel to Texas. I hadn't been there since I was little and had some unpleasant experiences with snakes, horses, and tornadoes. Luckily, I can say that this trip has definitely changed my opinion of Texas for the better. If nothing else, at least it has summer all year round.

Cowboy Dreams

I'm spending my spring break in Austin. Needless to say I am more than thrilled to be going some place warm. I'll be back probably on Friday. Until then, have a really great week!
And.. I promise I will not come back in a matching head-to-toe lime green cowgirl ensemble.

Paradigm

Wearing: Thrifted cutoffs and vintage white blouse. Vintage pop beads, Anthropologie belt and head band, purple cardigan

Today is one of those days where it started out really warm and sunny, then slowly but surely turned into a grey and blustery day. I suppose that means that this beautiful weather was nothing more than a mere tease.
I'm thinking about starting to intermix inspiration and d.i.y ideas between outfit posts. So hopefully within a few days I'll have found my new blog's "true voice."
p.s. at the top of the picture, there is some blue duct tape attached to the cement from a failed attempt at hanging bright 70s tapestries to liven up the place. The tapestries didn't stick, but the tape sure did.

Sun Day Monday

Wearing: Thrifted Girls Gap Jean Jacket, Vintage Dress, Michael Kors Sandals, Fendi Sunglasses

It feels like spring finally. Something about 70 and sunny makes starting the week just so much more pleasant. Who can complain about a sunny day Monday?

Wearing Clothes That Aren't Clothes

Wearing: Vintage Scarf and Belt, Thrifted little boy's blazer, Joe's Jeans

I absolutely loved this scarf, but it was a little too big to wear as an accessory. My solution... Tie it up and wear it as a shirt.

Photo by Michael  ( isn't he lovely)
Wearing: H & M faux leather jacket and striped shirt, thrifted old navy cardigan, Joes skinny jeans, Michael Kors Sandals

When it's a rainy day, my philosophy is wear your sunshine.
That... and don't let the bottom of your pants get wet :)

Jesus Spends But I Save

Wearing: Kenzie vest, Green Shirt from London, Basic Brown V-neck, Gap Jeans, UO earrings, vintage headscarf

I've been wearing this outfit for the past three years. Isn't it great how style doesn't have to fade? Somethings just feel right I suppose....

Polite Ghosts Fading Quickly

Wearing: Ruffle Anthropologie Top, Urban Cardigan and Chiffon Mini, Black Tights, Franco Sarto Boots

I'm slowly realizing how much of my wardrobe had been dictated by my places of employment. On a lighter note, it's almost spring. When does it become okay to wear bare legs again?

Last Day of Winter

I sincerely apologize for the weird apartment backgrounds. I have no tripod or roommates home to photograph me, and its dark and about twenty degrees outside. Forgive me?
